Queens of Song is a celebrated live music production that honours the timeless voices and songs of some of the most influential singers of the past century, reimagined with artistry, warmth and contemporary flair. At its heart, the show is both a high-quality professional concert and a platform for meaningful community connection, blending outstanding musicianship with storytelling that resonates across generations.

Led by internationally acclaimed pianist, arranger and musical director Melissa Buchholz, and featuring award-winning vocalist Meg Kiddle, Queens of Song showcases iconic repertoire made famous by legendary artists such as Dusty Springfield, Olivia Newton-John, Karen Carpenter, Aretha Franklin, Judith Durham and many more. Each song is thoughtfully arranged to honour its original spirit while allowing space for fresh interpretation and emotional depth.

Since its inception, Queens of Song has toured extensively across Australia, appearing at major festivals including the Adelaide Fringe and Newcastle Fringe Festival, as well as in regional theatres, community venues and cultural centres. The production is highly adaptable, presenting in a range of formats, from intimate cabaret-style concerts to large-scale community collaborations featuring local choirs, musicians and school ensembles.

A defining feature of Queens of Song is its commitment to regional engagement and arts development. Through workshops, mentoring and collaborative rehearsals, the project invites local singers, instrumentalists, teachers and students to perform alongside professional artists. This inclusive approach builds skills, confidence and connection, while increasing access to high-quality live performance in regional and rural communities.

Warm, nostalgic and deeply engaging, Queens of Song is more than a concert, it is a shared musical experience that celebrates the enduring power of great songs and the communities that bring them to life.
