Public Seminar: Contemporary Challenges in United Nations Peace Operations - Reflections from South Sudan, Somalia and Colombia

We invite you to attend this free public seminar organised by The University of Queensland Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, and delivered by Mr Mauricio Artiñano. As places are limited, please register to secure your spot.

About the seminar

The seminar will discuss Mauricio's experience working with the UN Peace operations and an update on the successes and challenges of the implementation of the Colombian Peace Agreement.

He will share stories of the Rafting for Peace team from Caquetá, Colombia who are part of a fledgling adventure tourism venture supported by the United Nations mission at Colombia’s Miravalle Territorial Area for Training and Reincorporation (TATR), about 180 miles south of Bogota. The team will be present at the seminar after returning to Brisbane having competed in the International Rafting Federations 2019 World Rafting Championships in Tully, Australia.

A networking reception with an opportunity to meet the Rafting for Peace team from Colombia will follow the seminar from 7–8pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
