Join us at Artspace on Thursday 10 June, 5pm, for an in conversation between artists Diana Baker Smith and Rochelle Haley (Artspace One Year Studio Artist), followed by drinks to celebrate the close of Tasks yet to be composed for the occasion.
Curated by Bree Richards, Tasks yet to be composed for the occasion is a series of encounters between artist and researcher Diana Baker Smith and Australian dancer, choreographer and artist Philippa Cullen (1950-1975).

Diana Baker Smith is an artist who works across moving image and performance. Her projects are collaborative, research driven, and informed by feminist methodologies. Her most recent work, the video essay Opening Night, was made in collaboration with art historian Verónica Tello, and screened at the National Gallery of Australia, and the Sydney Opera House in 2021. Diana is also a founding member of art collective Barbara Cleveland, and Lecturer in Fine Arts at UNSW Art & Design.
Rochelle Haley is an artist, researcher, and lecturer in fine arts at UNSW Art & Design. Working with choreographers and dancers, her painting installation and performance works investigate space structured around the sensation of the moving body. Haley is currently an investigator on international research projects Precarious Movements: Choreography and the Museum and Dancing with the Non-Human; the Aesthetics of Encounter, contributing to her expertise in the intersection of expanded painting practice and choreographed movement.
