In this workshop you will learn how to propagate from seed (in punnets and direct sowing into the garden), cuttings and root division. If you have secateurs please bring them.
If you are a beginner gardener, this workshop will help you to get started while more experienced gardeners will enjoy taking advantage of the expertise of our facilitators.
Since 2014, Richard Lee has been working together with Olympic Adult Education @ Alice House, a community gathering place in West Heidelberg. Together we run a seedling propagation project, sharing propagation skills to a small group of volunteers. The volunteers propagate and care for seedlings, which are sold at the Malahang Festival & The Olympic Village Makers Market. All proceeds go back into the project.
Robin and Paul Gale-Baker are gardeners with over 50 years experience. Robin owned the first herb and cottage plant nursery in Tasmania back in the 1980s and is an expert propagator as is Paul. Paul runs Urban Shepherd and has expertise with wicking beds, worm farms and composting techniques. They are inspiring and entertaining workshop leaders. Robin is also Banyule Local Hero for 2107 -18.
