Ready to create professional audio projects? Pro Tools 101 is your hands-on introduction to the world’s leading digital audio workstation - Avid™ Pro Tools. This short course is the official Avid™ Pro Tools 101 certification program delivered by CIT, the only authorised Avid™ Training Partner in the Canberra region.
Whether you’re interested in music, podcasting, film production or digital media, this short course will equip you with the essential skills needed for recording, editing and mixing with Pro Tools following the official Avid™ Pro Tools 101 curriculum, used by Avid™ training partners worldwide.
Learn by doing in CIT’s specialist studios, guided by Avid™ Certified Instructors. You’ll build multi-track sessions, record live audio and MIDI, and use virtual instruments. By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills to complete a basic Pro Tools project, from setup to final mixdown.
This course is ideal for practising musicians, sound technicians and media professionals looking to gain industry-recognised certification and enhance their career prospects. No prior experience with Pro Tools is required.

Eligibility and entry requirements
To enrol in this course, you must be aged 17 years or older, and be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- a New Zealand citizen
- the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- an eligible temporary visa holder as defined in the CIT Admission and Enrolment Policy.
Delivery mode
- Face-to-face course delivered on-campus over 3 weeks (5 hours per week)
