On Friday 17 May, we recognise IDAHOBIT, also known as International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination.
Join us for a film screening of Pride at Lido Cinemas. Pride is an uplifting movie about LGBTQIA+ people from London coming together to support a community of Welsh miners during the miners’ strike in 1984.
This is a free event, but places are limited and bookings are essential.
For more information, please contact CommunityEvents@boroondara.vic.gov.au or the Community Planning and Development Team on 03 9278 4017.
This film screening will feature open captions for all attendees.
Frequently asked questions
The foyer and cinemas are all wheelchair accessible via a lift. When entering the Lido Arcade from Glenferrie Rd, turn down the corridor on your first right. The lift is at the end and reaches all levels. Accessible bathrooms are located next to the lift on both the foyer and cinema levels.
We have four wheelchair accessible spaces in the cinema. All wheelchair spaces can be accessed through the back entrance (top) of the cinema. There are four companion seats available. To book a spot, please email communityplanning@boroondara.vic.gov.au or 03 9278 4017.
Open Captions are text with sound descriptions displayed on the screen to allow all patrons to enjoy movies together.
There are hearing loops in all the cinemas. To use the hearing loop, patrons must sit central, two thirds down towards the screen.
The Lido is situated very close to public transport. The Lido is opposite Glenferrie Station.
Pride is rated M (the content is moderate in impact) due to mature themes, coarse language, sexual references and brief nudity.
