Pride 101: Building an Inclusive Water Industry

Pride 101: Building an Inclusive Water Industry

Online event
Tuesday, Mar 31 from 12 pm to 1 pm AEDT
Overview

Learn how to support your LGBTIQA+ colleagues and build a better workplace.

We all want a workplace where everyone feels like they can be themselves. This 'Pride 101' session is a simple, practical look at how you can support your LGBTIQA+ teammates and help make our industry a more welcoming place for everyone.

In the water industry, we talk a lot about safety. But feeling safe at work isn't just about the physical environment; it’s about knowing you are respected and valued for who you are, whether you’re out in the field or in the office.

We are especially proud to host this 'Pride 101' session on Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV). It’s a day dedicated to celebrating trans and gender diverse people, and a perfect reminder of why visibility and inclusion matters so much in our industry.

For the first time, Pride in Water is opening this session to people who aren’t members yet. We want to give you a chance to see what our community is about and take away some helpful tips you can use at work right away.

What we’ll chat about:

  • The Basics: A simple guide to LGBTIQA+ terms so you can feel more confident in conversation.
  • Pronouns: Why they matter and how to use them respectfully.
  • Small Changes, Big Impact: Practical ways to make sure everyone feels welcome, no matter where you work.
  • Days of Significance: Why celebrating days like Trans Day of Visibility helps build a more inclusive culture for everyone.
  • Being a Good Ally: How to move from just "being supportive" to actually helping your colleagues feel included.

Why Attend?

Whether you are an aspiring Ally, a HR professional, or a leader in the water sector, this workshop provides the foundational blueprints for LGBTIQA+ inclusion. We move past the theory and get into the practical, industry-specific "how-to."

Limited Spots

To keep the session relaxed and give everyone a chance to ask questions, we have only 50 spots available. Registration is essential, so please grab your spot early.
