The Learning Advisers at ANU Academic Skills work with students to develop the key academic skills and communication strategies that are foundational to all academic activity. We work with students from first year undergraduate to final year Phd, by conducting workshops, one to one appointments and a variety of self help online resources.

ANU Academic Skills

Is the thought of talking about your project to a room full of people a daunting or even exciting prospect? Presentations, whether at conferences or for key milestones, are a crucial part of the PhD experience and your professional development. They are a great way to share your research and to obtain constructive feedback from your community of interested scholars and practitioners. This two-hour workshop offers tips for getting the most out of these opportunities. Learn key techniques for structuring and delivering a presentation with a purpose, and discover effective strategies for communicating your message more confidently using engaging visual aids. We also discuss how to anticipate and respond effectively to questions about your project and progress to date.
This workshop is part of the Science, Health and Medicine Career development Framework program and can be counted as a valid activity.
