Premiere of Timmy the Turtle Animation
Event Information
About this Event
Timmy is a turtle and life is a little confusing for him.
He doesn’t quite fit in with his peers in the ocean or those on the land, he’s a little bit different and struggles to belong. After many rejections, Timmy learns it’s ok to be different, it just takes a little kindness and leadership to forge a true-blue connection that will spark a friendship.
Who is it for and why?
This is a story for primary school children, written by Richard Habelrih, a young man on the autism spectrum.
The story, inspired by his own experiences growing up, is about friendship and inclusion with a powerful anti-bullying message.
You want to talk about social justice?
This is a valuable school resource which not only shares a powerful message, but provides opportunities for young autistic people who have pursued their creative talents and collaborated to create this animation.
