In this HSC Kickstarter Holiday Workshop, we’re going to help you master Essay Writing for the new HSC English Syllabus! In this 3 hour workshop we’re going to help you:
- Write a Band 6 HSC English Essay for Year 11 and 12
- Craft a compelling thesis statement
- Identify key ideas to explore in your essay
- Write a clear, succinct introduction
- Construct relevant, insightful analysis of your texts
- Craft topic and linking sentences
- Round out your essay with a clear conclusion
Why is it important to master this now?
Since students are no longer able to memorise essays under the new HSC syllabus, understanding the structure and key components of essay writing is more important than ever. This workshop will provide students with the tools they need to write band 6 essay responses for the common module, Module A and Module B.

Katy is a senior coach who is currently studying a Bachelor of Education at the University of New England. Following her degree, Katy plans to continue her career in Teaching! She has always been passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals and has years of tutoring and mentoring experience. Katy is an optimistic and positive tutor that aims to instil confidence within her students both inside and outside the classroom in her holiday workshop!
