About this event

Pregnancy Circle - Four weeks of support and connection in Wollongong

You deserve to be seen, held and celebrated in pregnancy. You are growing a new person AND you are growing INTO a new person. You are growing into the mother of your baby. This is a journey that needs to be witnessed and respected.

Join me for these nurturing and joyous four circles designed to support you during your pregnancy.

In circle, you will sit in deep connection with other women. You will hear your own words spoken by others. The outer layers are stripped back to reveal a core of commonality, a tapestry of shared experience as women navigating the transition to motherhood. Whether you are traversing this journey for the first time or the fourth (and beyond!), all mothers need to feel witnessed and supported. Everyone needs connection and community, and that need is never more pressing than when we become parents.

During my circles, I aim to provide a space where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are. The experience will ground you and allow you to feel more connected and present. You will probably laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time.

Each circle I focus on a phase of this journey from preconception to postpartum. I help you to illuminate your inner voice and give yourself permission to sink deeply into your pregnancy. You can find me on Instagram @dr_andy_lawrence

Intentional art practice is a significant part of each circle and is the vehicle for an embodied experience. These practices are aimed at bringing you into your body, back to the earth, and back to your birth rite as a creative being.

This circle is open to:

All pregnant mothers (if you are pregnant with your first baby, this includes you!)

Women on a conscious preconception/conception journey

The investment is $276 + Eventbrite fees ($69 per circle). This includes:

  • A beautiful private venue
  • Hearty snacks and tea
  • Intentional ritual
  • A different art piece each week that you will work on in circle and take home with you. All materials are supplied.
  • Grounding meditation
  • A different embodiment practice each week
  • Intimate space for feminine connection
  • Facilitation of deep and uninterrupted listening and sharing

You will leave our circles feeling connected and nourished by feminine connection. And you will leave with beautifully meaningful art to decorate your birth altar or birth space. I can't wait to welcome you into circle to celebrate, witness and support you on your journey to motherhood.

This program is meant to be experienced as a whole including all four circles. If you cannot attend one of the circles, contact me via email (andrea.lawrence90@gmail.com) to discuss your options.

Add-on pregnancy photoshoot: As an attendee of the pregnancy circle, you will have the option to add-on a pregnancy photoshoot with me, Andy Lawrence after our final circle. The time and location is TBA once our circles begin. This service costs additional $99 (+ Eventbrite fees) per person for at least 20 professionally edited images. You can opt-in at any time during the pregnancy circles.

Experiencing financial hardship: Payment plans available (in two instalments). Enquire via email (andylawrence.doula@gmail.com).

Frequently asked questions

What is a circle?

A circle is a gathering of people in an intimate and private space that allows the 'small talk' and surface chit chat to fall away to make space for deep connection, listening and feeling. My pregnancy circles focus on reconnecting women back to their bodies, their babies, other women and the earth.

Can I bring my baby or child?

The essence of this circle is to celebrate YOU, the woman. Having a toddler or mobile baby in the space can take away from that. We want you to be able to let go fully and get the most out of this time. Therefore this is a woman-only circle. Newborns and babies-in-arms are welcome and celebrated.

Is there parking available?

There is limited on-site parking available and plenty of street parking on Wentworth Ave.

Is the venue accessible?

The venue is equipped with ramps for wheelchair access. Please contact me for anything else you might need to access this service.

Is food provided?

Hearty snacks and tea are provided.

I'm nervous because I've never attended anything like this before.

My pregnancy circles are safe and welcoming. I honour your feelings of nervousness. Vulnerable connection can be scary, particularly with strangers! You are welcome in circle with all the complexity of your whole-self, no matter where you are at or how you are feeling.

But what will we actually do?

The circle will be a space to slow down and be still. Throughout our time together, we will simply 'be' rather than having the pressure to 'do'. AND You can expect creative expression through a range of art practices (no experience required), meditation, music and deep sharing and listening.

What kind of art will we be making?

We will explore a variety of materials and art practices including watercolours, body painting, clay building and weaving with natural materials.

What do I need to bring?

An open heart and mind, a water bottle, a pen and journal, anything meaningful to you that you would like to add to the altar.
