About this event

In the last two financial years, the FWO has recovered approximately $1billion in underpaid wages and entitlements from employers of all sizes across Australia.

While many employers will conduct a payroll review in response to a concern raised by an employee, others are choosing to be more proactive and perform “health checks” to ensure that their payroll processes are compliant with Australian laws and applicable industrial instruments. In more serious cases, the FWO may get involved and direct employers to undertake these calculations.

However, without knowing how the FWO approaches complex topics such as the proper interpretation of industrial instruments and set-off, an employer’s calculations may be challenged, and the next step could be costly legal action.

The introduction of new wage theft laws amplifies the significance of this issue.

Cowell Clarke has developed extensive knowledge in this area through involvement in numerous underpayment matters involving the FWO. During this webinar, we will share our learnings and demonstrate our RemCheck service which allows for the calculation of employee entitlements and any underpayments under legal professional privilege.

If you advise clients who are employers, this webinar is essential viewing.
