The Victorian Government is progressing information sharing and family violence reforms to improve the wellbeing and safety of Victorian children and reduce family violence.

When Phase 2 commences, a range of education workforces* will be able to request and share information with other authorised professionals to better respond to the wellbeing or safety needs of children and their families and those at risk of family violence.

The Information Sharing and Family Violence Reforms: Practical Workshop for Professionals will equip professionals from prescribed education workforces to share information confidently, safety and appropriately under the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and will introduce the family violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework.

The workshops are designed to empower authorised professionals within an organisation or service to undertake information sharing activities and the relevant record-keeping requirements and be champions of the Reforms in their respective workplace.

The Practical Workshops for Professionals are three consecutive webinars that can either be taken in the one day or over a series of days.

At the end of the sessions, professionals will understand:

Session 1:

  • How to share information by applying the Reforms

Session 2:

  • How to engage effectively with children, young people and families under these new Reforms
  • How to strengthen collaborative practice and extend existing relationships

Session 3:

  • Record keeping and data security requirements
  • Safeguards for professionals and organisations
  • How to access supports and resources

During the sessions you will collaborate on practical ideas and case studies to understand how to use the Reforms in your everyday practice to support children’s wellbeing and safety.

From 2021 the sessions will be complemented with an eLearning package that can be used to refresh learning or for upskilling further professionals within a service.

  • Before and after school hours care services
