PRACTICAL AI
Empowering Community Groups to Transform Their Work with AI Systems, Projects and Agents - Half Day Session
Already using AI in your organisation but want to go further? This workshop helps community groups and not-for-profits move beyond the basics and embed AI into their everyday operations, to win more grants, ease administrative load, and spend more time on the work that matters most.
Taking a platform-agnostic approach, covering tools such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude, this session offers a structured, practical path to upskill participants across three core areas of using AI Assistants. These are digital tools that can generate content, conduct research, and automate tasks on your behalf.
The session will cover:
- An AI System - how to build your own knowledgebase, that onboards any AI tool with key information about your organisation. This becomes a living reference you can reuse across any AI project, chat, or agent.
- Projects - how to set up AI 'Projects' for practical use cases such as grant applications, FAQ libraries, customer enquiries, and policy writing, combining your knowledgebase with more specific context to create clear, reusable project instructions.
- Agents - how to set up AI 'Agents' that automate recurring tasks, such as drafting newsletters, monitoring grant updates, or preparing reports.
- AI for social and environmental impact - using AI strategically for wider positive impact, and ways to minimise its environmental footprint.
We encourage participation from individuals involved in community groups, not-for-profit organisations, or volunteer roles.
Please note, while this session builds on the earlier AI Made Friendly session, prior attendance is not required to take part.
