Event learning objectives Power-Assist Solutions for Wheelchairs: Empulse M90, F35 & R90

Sunrise Medical’s Empulse power-assist range is designed to give manual wheelchair users more freedom, reduce physical strain, and make everyday mobility easier and more enjoyable. These add-on systems blend seamlessly with a manual chair while delivering meaningful support for longer distances, hills, uneven terrain, and daily routines.

Empulse M90 — Motorised Wheel Power Assist

The M90 provides joystick-controlled power through motorised rear wheels, combining the independence of a manual chair with the ease of powered mobility. It reduces physical effort, supports longer outings, and boosts confidence in challenging environments.

Empulse F35 — Front-Mounted Power Add-On

The F35 (part of the Empulse front-add-on family) transforms a manual wheelchair into a powered device by attaching to the front frame. This reduces push effort, increases speed, and helps users travel further with less fatigue. It fits easily into daily life and is designed for convenience and versatility.

Empulse R90 — Push-Assist Power Wheel

The R90 is a compact, under-chair push-assist device that helps users go longer distances without fatigue, climb ramps more easily, and reduce shoulder strain. Its intuitive design maintains the chair’s natural size and turning circle, and the V-Lock system allows quick attachment to most wheelchairs. A simple control box and app-based performance profiles make it easy to tailor the support to different environments.
