Travel insurance

It is a condition that you take a travel insurance if you want to be part of this retreat.

Are there other ways of paying?

Yes via Paypal, Bank transfer. Please visit www.eqthappinessquotient.com

Is it only for Australian women?

Absolutely not. The retreat is open to everyone (well only to women). We have put AU$ as the account is based in Australia. We welcome all nationalities and we love diversity.

Do I have to pay the totality?

Yes. The system won’t allow you to pay a deposit. Please pay in totality. If you have any questions or concerns please email us directly.

Can I have a receipt?

Yes. Eventbrite will email you a receipt, which you can use for tax expenses.

Can I change from 3 nights to 6 nights, during my stay?

Yes, but we won’t be able to guarantee availability of your accomodation, neither the price we have negotiated with the hotel.

It’s best to book ahead your 6 nights well ahead: actually at time of booking. As it’s an exclusive retreat, it’s best to book well ahead.

Can I start my 3 days on 14-15-16 September rather than on 11-12-13 September?

Of course. But keep in mind our group of women would have bonded over 4 days already.

Can I transfer my place to someone else?

You can, at any time, transfer your place on the retreat to another person. This name change does not incur any fees from us, however any financial transactions need to be between you and your replacement guest.

What language will it be?

It will be in English. I also speak French, Japanese and daily Vietnamese. Our practitioners speak English and Vietnamese.. and we are here anyway… so no worries!

If I don’t like my duplex can I upgrade?

Sure. Let us know and we will liaise with the hotel management. You will have to pay the upgrade directly to the hotel. We have booked a duplex, twin share for our group with pool view in a 4 star resort.

About the room

It will have a pool view. It s approxximately 31 sqm2.

What is the name of the resort?

It’s called Almanity Resort. It’s a 4 star resort.

Can I share my room with my friend who has booked for the retreat?

Please let us know when you book.

It’s best to book separately. Just add a comment or email us.

Can I bring my family to the resort when I am attending the retreat?

Of course you can. Please note you need to arrange your accomodation by yourself.

As it’s a retreat, we are assuming that you would like to be part of our women circle. We would have booked you with another female participant to keep the retreat spirit.

Dietary requirements

The program includes healthy breakfasts. As it’s a buffet, we believe you will be able to satisfy your dietary requirements.

For lunches and dinners: if you decide to eat at the resort there are amazing yummy possibilities. Otherwise it’s walking-cycling distance to the old district.

Lunches and Dinners

We will have one day where we will visit the market, shop there and cook. Lunch will be prepared by you and you will eat what you have prepared! We have requested a vegetarian meal.

Apart from this excursion which is included in our retreat, you are free to discover the local cuisine in Hoi An. You can eat from the streets for $1 to amazing places for $50 or more. Your choice.

Shall I bring my own medications?

Yes we always advise people to bring their own. It’s not always easy to find the brand you need (paracetamol, imodium…) if you are not used to travel to Vietnam.

Renewable energy : What is it?

It’s actually a power nap. It’s essential to the brain to regain its energy and you to be productive. It’s not a nice to do but a must if your work is busy and demanding. It’s part of our wellbeing program to give you a new habit.

I am new to mindfulness: can I join?

Absolutely! We believe that everyone has this skill already and that we need to rediscover it. Everyone has their own needs and learning or practice styles.

What will you cover in the mindfulness sessions?

We will blend yoga and mindfulness. We will also have more structured sessions where we will explore the thinking, critical mind and the mind which worries.

Are all sessions compulsory?

No. You can decide not to participate in our tai chi or yoga etc… It’s up to you. It’s all inclusive though.

Yoga

These are very gently yoga sessions which also include a meditative focus.

The resort also runs daily yoga sessions. It will be suitatble to all levels.

Do I need to bring my own yoga mats?

You can if you wish; especially if you are staying longer. Otherwise we will have enough yoga mats for everyone.

Will we start the day early?

Vietnam is a very hot country. It’s pleasant in the morning to salute the sun with our yoga practice. Vietnamese people rest after lunch due to the heat.

What can I do during my free time?

Discover the town ( bike or walk), the river, the museum, the heritage buildings, the rice fields and the people!

Hoi An is well know for amazing custom made clothes and shoes. They can reproduce all your clothes requirements even from a picture! Just choose your fabric. You have been warned. It’s the silk town (we suggest that you bring a big suitcase for your shopping).

Can I bike to the beach?

Yes. It’s only a 3 kms from town. An easy road.

hummm The traffic is a bit different from the west

Traffic in Hoi An is very peaceful compared with Ho Chi Minh city and is bike-friendly.

Helmet for bikes

There are no helmet requirements for push bikes

Bikes at the hotel

There are bikes at the hotel you can use.

Motorcycle

It’s very easy to rent a motorbike in Hoi An. Usually they will ask for your passport which they will keep for the duration of the rental: around $US5/day.

How hot is it?

Expect temperatures in the range of 25oc to 32oC.

The resort is air-conditioned and the rooms are very comfortable. And there’s a pool!

Will it flood?

Well we don’t really know… but the flood season is from November till January…. and if it does, we can meditate, enjoy our spa or our massages!!

If there are unforeseen reasons, we will refund as follows:

100% less administration fees ($250) if the cancellation is before 11 July 2017

We reserve the right to postpone the retreat for unforeseen reasons. In this case, we will refund the totality of your payment if you can't make the new dates.

Security

Hoi An is generally considered safe for travellers and the the locals are keen to protect this reputation. Just take the normal precautions with your valuables when outside the resort. There is a safe in your room.

Money

In hotels and restaurants you can pay with your credit card. Everywhere else it s cash… so you will carry millions of Dong in your wallet. You need to get used use to the BIG notes! 1 million Dongs is US$50 only! There is a safe in your room.

I have spare kilos in my luggage - can I help somehow?

For the last 25 years we have carried books, clothes, toys for kids in less economically developed countries (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Tibet). We believe that we rarely use 30 kgs per person when we travel for holidays, so we carry items which can be useful for other people. In Hoi An we help Hearing and Beyond: a school created to help deaf children. We can connect you with this or other NGOs based in Hoi An. Alternatively, if you are arriving from Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi there are NGOs which work with trafficked children etc.

I’d like to help - what else can I do?

We usually suggest people to bring recycling bags to donate; and help people to raise awareness about the single plastic use. 20 years ago all the packaging were in banana leaves.. or any other organic wrapping. Please get in touch if you would like ideas for other things you might bring with you to donate to less fortunate people.

We are carbon neutral and we would liek to stay that way

EQ at Happiness Quotient believes in greater good. We believe that we all want to do good and greater good.We apply a few of the UN Sustainable goals. We would like to invite you to help us to stay carbon neutral. We offset our carbon emission especially when we travel internationally. In Australia, we offset our car usage by calculating our carbon footprint and plant trees and fund CDM projects.

To calculate how much CO2 when you fly to the retreat: http://www.forestcredits.org.uk .

We are also mindful about our food choice by privileging low miles food, organic and plant based. We keep in mind that meat is water intensive, and require transport and land use (crop); not even talking about the impact on the welfare of the animals. This is why we have organised a vegetarian lunch for the cooking class.

Is there a minimum age requirement to participate to the event?

You need be over 18 years old, unless your daughter is turning 18 soon. We can discuss. Obvioulsy you are responsible for your daughter (s).

Will you run a similar retreat with men?

We plan to run regular retreats, where men will also be included. This Women Circle is a speacial one!

Will you run more retreats in the future in Vienam?

Yes! We plan to run regular retreats: 2 to 4 per year plus team building.

Do you run retreats for team building for companies?

Please contact us and we can explore what is suitable to your needs.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Absolutely. My@eqathappinessquotient. com or facetime- messenger me on 61416177112 or 0416177112.
