Learn how to start an art practice in any field - visual art, dance, sculpture, music, theatre - we'll cover searching for and understanding your creative drives, how to go about learning a craft, experimenting, and collaborating with others.

Materials will be provided. Bring your current and past journals to share ideas with the group if you like, or use materials provided.

This event is open to youth and adults, ages 14+

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

D.A. CARTER is an artist, musician and general creative type born and raised in Sydney. He's performed music and poetry at Burning Man, Sydney Writers, National Young Writers, Sydney Fringe, Dragon Dreaming & Subsonic Festivals. D.A. was a finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam has self-released several albums on vinyl and performed on streets and stages across Australia and on every continent (except Antarctica). D.A. is on a mission to help humans of all ages find a path through art to explore and express their experience.

ABOUT THE VENUE:

LEICHHARDT LIBRARY is accessible by lift from both the street and ground levels.
