Port Kembla - FREE Community Skateboarding Workshops + JAM

Port Kembla, let’s GO!

Join us for a huge day of Skateboarding at the new Port Kembla Skatepark.

This event is proudly funded by the BighART, Skate of Mind project and marks the launch of FREE monthly community-building skate events in the Port Kembla area.

The energy behind PK DIY, the dedication to creating safe and inclusive spaces, and the recent surge in female participation have all helped shape something special in Port Kembla. This event brings those elements together in one powerful community moment.

A flow on from the FREE Female-Focused After School Mentoring Session(funded by Bighart's Skate of Mind project)run by Olympic team Skateboarder Felicity Turner. We are proud to include a FREE Female-Focused Mentoring Session and Female-Focused Jam to continue building confidence and visibility for girls in skateboarding, while also opening the park up for the wider community to connect, learn and celebrate.

Expect good vibes all afternoon, tunes by Catman, community connection and a high-energy Skate Jam with rad prizes up for grabs.

The story behind this movement, the history, the challenges and the wins, is captured in the PK DIY Documentary, launching at The Servo at 5:00 pm. This is a unique opportunity to take a deeper dive into the community story, understand how it all began and get inspired about how to be part of what comes next. Supported by Local Band Kurtell!
