Overview

Join us as Morgan launches her trio of haiku zines as part of the Newcastle Writers Festival.

Join local poet Morgan Bell in conversation with Kerri Shying at Tomaree Library to launch her trio of haiku zines. The zines were designed as a matching set to form a collection of 84 poems, each a unique colour swatch from nature. This session will include readings and a conversation about haiku as a form, and colour as inspiration.

Morgan is the author of visual poetry collections Pretend I Don't Exist (2021) and Idiomatic, For The People (2019). This launch is part of 2026 Newcastle Writers Festival. The zines being launched are: The Sound of Colour (2023), Animalian Bites (2024), and Glancing The Hold (2025).

This is a free adult event with refreshments provided.
