About this event

“It was amazing and the effects have definitely been felt today also. I can highly recommend this event 🤗🙌 everybody should experience it ! Thankyou !!” – Tanya

“Both Kym (breathwork) and Chris (harmonics) deliver a 'breath of fresh soul soothing sounds' at these sessions. So glad we went back a second time - and so glad we are going to the Libero session in March. An experience your body, mind and soul will be grateful for.” – Joshua

“It was such a beautiful event, thank you both so much for all you give through this work you do. I have made a big life transition and I feel that both sessions I have attended have helped to provide me with a groundedness, clarity and confidence.” - Mel

Pneuma : nū’mə : breath, spirit, soul.

In ancient Greece pneuma sustained consciousness in the body. It was seen as part of our inborn spirit and something necessary to life.

Join certified Sound Therapist, Chris Toms from Harmonic Essence, and accomplished Breathwork Coach, Kym Burls, for an evening spent reconnecting back to that inborn spirit - of coming back to self.

The program for PNEUMA: Breath + Sound Experience is simple, but the effects are felt deep within the body, long after the last note has been played.

We start the evening with a relaxing guided Breathwork session, to bypass the mental level of consciousness and drop into a deeper state of consciousness, where spirit, soul and self reside. Following this we flow straight into a therapeutic Sound Journey, to relax the body, calm the mind, soothe the soul and step through the door into a deep meditative state.

-----

Why come along?

Unlike Meditation, which helps us become aware of what’s happening in our minds, both Sound Therapy and Breathwork allow you to disconnect from your mind and instead reconnect with your body. It’s from this place of connection - to our deeper self - that we’re able to heal and grow.

-----

What are the benefits?

While a Sound Journey and Breathwork are two different practices, they provide several wonderful crossover benefits, to body, mind and soul, including:

  • Reduce stress
  • Help with depression and anxiety
  • Improve pain management
  • Improve sleep quality
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Improve cardiovascular health
  • Clear and calm the mind
  • Help to find purpose
  • Create an overall sense of wellbeing

-----

What to bring:

Wear loose, comfortable clothing

Please bring a yoga mat or camping mat, your favourite blanket/quilt and cushions/pillows

For hydration, bring a water bottle or thermos if you prefer

What is a Sound Journey (aka Sound Bath)?

A Sound Bath, Sound Meditation or Sound Journey is a sensory audio experience that is hard to describe in words. The sense of calm can be likened to many years of accumulated meditation practice - all at once entering your being. This feeling can remain with you for days or weeks in some instances.

To participate could not be easier. It takes very little effort on the part of the receiver. All that is required is for you to show up and either lie down (most cases) or for some; sit in a meditation posture or even a chair. A series of sounds from multiple large Healing Gongs, precious metal Himalayan Singing Bowls, Healing Drums & Percussion, Heart Warming Vocal Toning and magical Hand Pan, take you on a journey unlike any other. Each experience is unique and there is no previous experience required.

What is the Breathwork?

While the term ‘breathwork’ has become a catch all for many forms of conscious breath practice, Kym believes in being breathing technique agnostic, something which is reflected in the guided breathwork on offer. We will move through different techniques designed to stimulate the nervous system, incorporating everything from slow, rhythmic breathing to superventilation and playing with various breath retentions.

The breathing technique is a more rebalancing/relaxing style, and different to rebirthing/holotropic/conscious connected breathwork.
