Event description

The Playbook For Migrant and Refugee Entrepreneurs Launch Event will be on 27th of September and we are honoured to have Philip Dalidakis, the Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy, Cr Philip Le Liu of City of Melbourne (CoM) and Dr Kate Cornick, CEO of LaunchVic to officiate and speak at the event.

Introducing the Playbook is Aiman Hamdouna, Founder of Hatch Quarter and the rudder in this Playbook initiative.

About the Playbook

The Hatch Quarter Playbook will serve as a guide to help new migrant and refugee entrepreneurs integrate into the Victorian startup industry and community.

Supported by LaunchVic, Hatch Quarter will be an educational tool for first-generation Australian entrepreneurs to stand on their feet and to propel them into the startup industry.

It will also provide an introduction to the startup community in Victoria with a history of educating and providing deep insights on business ideas and execution to government grants and support.

The playbook will be published in multiple languages starting off with English, Arabic, French, Hindi and Mandarin to ensure that it reaches the right audience. There will also be an online interactive version of the Playbook in English that will be made available.

3:00–3:30 PM: Speech by Philip Dalidakis, Cr Philip Le Liu, Dr Kate Cornick and Aiman Hamdouna

“Diversity and inclusion is a core focus for LaunchVic and the playbook will be an important contribution enabling more migrant and refugee entrepreneurs to engage in the Victorian startup ecosystem”, said Dr Kate Cornick, CEO of LaunchVic.

“LaunchVic is proud to be a part of this playbook to help startups all over the state get on their feet.”
