A weekly therapy group focused on early development through natural play, with carers staying and participating throughout.

The group supports early development through natural play, shared routines and meaningful interaction. Carers stay for the full session and take part in ways that feel comfortable for them.

This is a goal‑based therapy group. Individualised child and carer goals are explored in the first session and added to the Group Activity Plan, with progress monitored throughout the term in line with NDIS expectations.

What to expect

Play and learning

• Play‑based activities that support shared attention, turn‑taking and early communication, shaped by the goals identified in the first session.
• Shared stories, songs and simple routines that build language, social connection and participation.
• Strategies you can use in everyday routines.

Support for carers

• Modelling of communication strategies that you can try when it works for your child.
• Opportunities to participate in ways that align with your child’s strengths and goals.

Program details

• Delivered as therapy supports by qualified Key Worker (allied health professional)
• Sessions follow current NDIS pricing and limits
• Shared programming costs spread across the term

When and where

• Every Monday, 10:00–11:30 am (year‑round)
• Carrington Children’s Centre, Thomastown

Please bring

• EpiPen or medication as outlined in your medical action plan
• Water bottle and Nut‑free snack
• Sun hat
• Spare clothing (if needed)

Group cost

Group costs vary Group costs vary depending on group numbers.

After each session, staff will document how your child participated and worked toward their goals.
Term summary reports are available on request.

Please note:

Program of Support billing
All MCM groups operate as a Program of Support. Under the NDIS Program of Supports, enrolling in a group means you are billed for all scheduled sessions, regardless of the number of sessions your child attends.

Billing timelines
Group program charges are applied 14 days before the program begins.
If you cancel more than 14 days before the start date, no charges will apply.

Service agreement requirements
You will need an active service agreement with MCM and enough funding to cover the group cost. If you are unsure, please contact our Customer Support Team on 1800 343 287 to check your funding or arrange additional funds.

Minimum numbers
MCM may cancel the group if minimum numbers are not met.
