Workshops at the Parramatta Female Factory

The Parramatta Female Factory Friends runs Workshops throughout the year. Each workshop is different and can be from craft  to hands on skills workshops e.g. learning family history, using technology for colonial research - specialising on female convicts

Learn how to integrate artificial intelligence into your family history work in this interactive workshop led by Andrew Redfern. Participants will be guided through the various strategies and processes required to harness the potential of AI in working with your own research to build comprehensive and factually correct materials. Key uses of AI in genealogy will be explored, including data analysis, image generation, data extraction, summarisation and writing, with many practical examples given. Designed to be highly practical and hands-on using your own material, participants are encouraged to bring their own device and research - more information will follow, closer to the event.Andrew is a keen family historian with an interesting array of ancestors, including convicts, murderers, priests, wealthy gentlemen, travelling musicians and the odd asylum inmate. An active member of the Society of Australian Genealogists, he was instrumental in ‘Ironclad Sisterhood’, a digitisation project of records of more than 4700 convict women. Andrew’s work on AI has been sought after by numerous family history groups both in Australia and Internationally.
