Description

Landholders and interested community members in the Bigga region are invited to join the K2W (Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala ) Link partnership for the launch of Petaurus Connections- a NSW Government Saving our Species (SoS) project in partnership with the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife.

Petaurus Connections will focus on three NSW listed threatened species including; the Squirrel glider (Petaurus norfolcensis), the Spotted-tailed quoll (Dasyurus maculatus) and the Scarlet robin (Petroica boodang) that occur in the Bigga and Tuena districts across private land and through the parks and reserves such as Gillindich, Keverstone, Nuggetty, Razorback and Burwood Creek.

Over the next 2 years we will be inviting the community to get involved in a range of monitoring, survey and restoration works. We will also be launching an incentive program for protecting and enhancing habitat and assistance for managing pest and weeds.

The work that we will be doing to improve habitat condition and conditions and reducing threats will also benefit a host of other species and improve biodiversity and productivity across the region.

Come along and meet our team of ecologists and other experts who will be working on the program and help us by sharing your knowledge of the area, sightings of any of the target species and to find out how you can get involved.
