About this event

Tourism WA’s Perth Hills Agritourism Workshop Program is designed specifically for West Australian agricultural and tourism businesses interested in developing or enhancing their businesses using agritourism as an additional generator of income. The workshops are designed to recognise and build upon tourism potential to develop and deliver high quality experiences.

Who is presenting?

AGRITOURISM EXPERT - MR JOHN STANLEY

John is recognized as the leading consultant and presenter in the Agritourism sector around the world. He and his wife are the owner and operators of award-winning farm, Chestnut Brae, just outside Nannup WA. John interprets global retail trends to help businesses worldwide adapt to changing economic and political situations. By capitalising on the opportunities that change presents, John shows his clients and audiences how to expand and grow their markets by optimising current market challenges.

Whether you are a local farmer, producer, or even an existing tourism operator offering on-farm visitor experiences or just beginning the tourism journey, the program will help to inspire you to develop your tourism experience offering. This workshop is open to all who are looking to learn more about agritourism development and have the potential to grow into this space.

FAQ's

Here are a few points to note for the day;

Parking is limited on site. Please consider carpooling. If you have access to a 4-wheel drive please use this as there are additional parking spots available on-site for 4 wheel drives. See the mud map below for details. Please be careful if parking on Glenisla Rd as the road shoulders are narrow. Only park in areas that are safe, off the road and consider a short stroll to the venue from safer areas to park if on-site parking is full.

Arrivals, food and networking will commence at 11:30am for those that would like to come a little bit earlier, with workshop presentations beginning at 12:20pm.

Food will be prepared by the team in the kitchen at Plume Estate. It is a limited, set catering menu that consists of soups, platters and a german specialty called flammkuchen. Food will be available through all breaks through the afternoon, and on arrival. If you have any dietary requirements please bring along additional food just in case.

Presenters will start at 11:30am, breaking at 2:30pm for 30 mins for food and refreshments, before resuming at 3:00pm until 4:30pm. There will be half an hour of refreshments and networking after the presentations before we wrap up at 5:00pm. We encourage you to exchange details and keep up conversations beyond the workshop.
