About this event
- 1 hour 30 minutes
Dads in Distress has kept dads alive and in their kids' lives since Father's Day, 1999.
We are launching a peer support group for Dads that is 100% free, male-friendly, non-judgemental and completely confidential. Most importantly, the group is specifically developed to reduce suicidality in this high-risk demographic.
This event is about letting the community know that we're here and sharing insights with those who work in this sector into the very real issues faced by separated dads (especially concerning contact with kids and feelings of suicide) and how support can be provided.
This event aims to inform and explore working with local volunteers and experts to help reach dads in the local area.
Who's this for?
- Those supporting men or, specifically, separated dads, locally - including family, friends, colleagues and professionals. e.g. GPs, counsellors, local men's support groups, politicians, police, family lawyers, psychologists etc
- Male peer support workers/volunteers - who may be interested in nationally leading FREE training in working with separated and/or suicidal men.
