Overview of the Persec Training
T his is the only available training in Australia designed specifically for DISP members to uplift compliance of requirements in the Personnel Security domain and reduce risk of information breaches through holistic understanding and implementation of controls from AS4811:2022, DSPF, PSPF, and ISM.
One ITAR violation through mismanagement of access costs significantly more than one day of training to understand personnel security controls.
T he course delivers immediately usable knowledge and skills to enhance organisational Personnel Security compliance, risk management, and decision making through a human-centric lens while reducing inefficiencies and risk through siloed approaches.
Attendees will participate in active learning through tabletop exercises, case studies and scenario-based exercises in order to understand, apply, and evaluate applicable requirements, controls, and mandatory clauses from:
- AS4811:2022 Workforce Screening Standard
- Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF)
- Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
- Information Security Manual (ISM)
- AGSVA's Standard.

- DISP-centric frameworks and requirements explained (takeaway references)
- Use the DSAP List to define role attributes, including ITAR considerations (tabletop exercise)
- AS4811:2022 mandatory statements to integrate into your business (example policies)
- Recruiting securely and in alignment with AS4811:2022 (case studies)
- Understanding the Critical Path to Insider Risk (CPIR) in the context of your business, concerning behaviours, and early intervention
- Security clearance hygiene
- Concluded with a test of objectives.
What do you finish with?
Attendees will be provided with a workbook, reference material, example policies, case studies, and checklists.
The day is fully catered with morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. Be sure to advise of any dietary requirements.
Participants will finish the day with a test of objectives, a Certificate of Completion, and are invited to stay afterwards for a 1 hour networking session at Olim's with a complimentary bar tab.
