About this event

  • 1 hour

In collaboration with the City of Adelaide libraries and community centres, Relationships Australia SA is offering an opportunity for the community to learn and engage through a diversity of supports offered by the Gambling Help Service's experienced, holistically driven, and passionate team.

There are many barriers to seeking support. It can be difficult to know how to reach out. Join us for an interactive and informative session which discusses helpful and practical solutions to increase the chances of breaking through the barriers to seek support and enhance recovery.

This session will have Peer Support Workers available for a chat. Peer Support Workers offer you the chance to chat with someone who has experienced the devastating consequences and harm of addiction as well as the possible journey to recovery! Peer Support Workers share their experiences with addiction to empower others who are experiencing the harms of addiction.

“It is so different talking with someone who has been there. They have felt the things I have felt. They have felt the urges. They have felt uncontrollable…you know? It is difficult to describe sometimes, but they have recovered from it, and it makes me think I can too.”
