Join us at the Pay It Forward Breakfast, with MC Alina Bain, CEO Launceston Chamber of Commerce and guest speaker Dr Patrick Parkinson AM, MA, LLM, LLD. Dr Parkinson is an Emeritus Professor of Law at the University of Queensland and the Executive Director of Publica (Publica.org.au).
A specialist in family law and child protection, Dr Parkinson will talk about how the community can better support the well-being of children and young people and improve the social environment in which children and young people are growing up today.
The impact on children of family breakup, homelessness and poverty is profound. Thats why City Mission provides programs for children and youth free of charge.
We rely heavily on the generosity of individuals and the community; the ticket price includes breakfast and donation to City Mission programs for children and youth. By attending the Pay It Forward breakfast you are having a direct impact on young lives; helping to break the cycle of disadvantage, criminality, substance abuse, homelessness, and mental health challenges in our local community.
Last year more than 2500 children and young people were supported by City Mission's transformational programs Inside Out 4 Kids [supporting emotional wellbeing] and The Mish [mentoring and growing resilience and ambition in young people]. Back to Pay It Forward
