Pattern Making

Using a garment as your starting point, this workshop introduces fundamental techniques for analysing its shape, tracing its components and developing a reusable sewing pattern. 

In this workshop you will: 

• Examine the construction of your chosen garment and identify its individual pattern pieces. 

• Learn techniques for tracing and transferring garment shapes without pulling the original apart. 

• Understand essential pattern-making principles, including seam allowances. 
• Understand garment flow and add identifying guidelines to patterns.

• Make a solid start on creating a reusable pattern of your favourite garment, with instructions on how to finish the process from the comfort of your home.
