About this event

This workshop is part of the City of Burnside's FISCH program, Family Initiative Supporting Children's Health.

Bookings are essential.

Caring for Kids course is non-accredited delivered by an accredited St John’s Ambulance service trainer in a relaxed environment with no assessments and plenty of hands-on practice for relevant first aid techniques.

In this 3-hour workshop, we will be covering:

- Choking

- Bleeding and wound management

- Burns

- DRSABCD/CPR

- Defibrillation

- Recognition and treatment of anaphylaxis and asthma

- Other topics as decided by the group

It is ideal for new parents, guardians and/or carers of young children, including baby sitters and grandparents.

Each participant receives a “Caring for Babies and Children’’ publication (valued at $24.95) on the day of course completion.
