Parent info talk: keys to childhood development

Chatswood LibraryChatswood, NSW
Monday, Apr 13, 2026 from 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm AEST
Overview

Learn tips and tools from local experts for behavioural issues and developing language and literacy skills in your child.

Do you have a child aged 2-14?

Do any of these questions resonate with you?

  • My child has very few words, but they can understand everything I say. Do they have a language delay?
  • My child is chatty at home but very quiet at school. We speak another language at home, and I have no concerns with their communication. Should I be worried?
  • My child gets frustrated easily when others don’t understand them. I am having a hard time guessing what they’re trying to say and it’s taking forever. What can I do to help?
  • My child is really shy at the playground, and they prefer to play on their own. I know they want to make friends with others though. How do I help my child develop friendships?
  • My child starts to show interest in reading. I bought flashcards and I’m planning to teach them the alphabet and numbers. Does this help?
  • The school complained about my child’s behaviour – biting, hitting… what is wrong with my child?
