This hands-on short course is designed for car owners and automotive enthusiasts who want to take pride in restoring and maintaining their own vehicles. 

Whether you’re restoring a project car, fixing up your daily driver, or simply want to save money on minor repairs, you’ll learn real paint and panel techniques, develop practical skills to handle common repairs, use tools correctly, and avoid costly mistakes. 

Delivered in CIT’s specialist automotive paint and panel workshops, this course combines hands-on learning with guided practice and practical demonstrations. Under the guidance of experienced industry professionals, you’ll learn how to prepare surfaces, fix minor dents and damage, and apply fresh paint for a smooth, professional-looking finish. 

Eligibility and entry requirements

To enrol in this course, you must be aged 17 years or older, and be one of the following: 

• an Australian citizen or permanent resident 

• a New Zealand citizen 

• the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa 

• an eligible temporary visa holder as defined in the CIT Admission and Enrolment Policy.   

Delivery mode

• Face-to-face course delivered on-campus over 4 weeks (3 hours per week)
