Paint a 3D-printed fantasy miniature! Inviting 10 –14 year-olds to dive into a guided painting adventure. All materials will be provided.

Paint a 3D-printed fantasy miniature! Inviting 10 –14 year-olds to dive into a guided painting adventure. All materials will be provided.

Participants will choose from three original character designs, including our friendly mascot Moko, and take their painted miniature home.

This is a fully supervised workshop by a VIT registered teacher with over 15 years of experience.

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop is ideal for kids new to miniature painting and who already enjoy art, gaming, fantasy worlds, or creative hobbies. The session is suited for all ability levels and learning needs.


What will kids learn?

  • Thinning paints and applying smooth basecoats
  • Using washes to add depth and shadow (colour theory)
  • Drybrushing and highlighting techniques for metalics
  • Creating a scenic base


Will all materials be provided? Yes, including:

  • One 3D-printed character miniature to paint and take home
  • All paints, brushes, palettes, and materials
  • Scenic basing materials


Important information for parents:

  • Ages: 10–14 ( Eventbrite website says 12, please ignore)
  • Time: Class starts at 9 AM (drop off from 8:45) and finishes at 12 PM (pack-up begins at approx. 11:40 AM)
  • Location: Box Hill Community Arts Centre - Drycraft West Studio
  • This is a drop-off workshop with structured supervision by a licensed teacher
  • Please wear clothes that can get a little paint on them
  • Bring a water bottle and a small snack

The workshop is led by a licensed teacher and experienced creative educator, with a current Working With Children Check (Victoria) and professional experience delivering hands-on art, design, and technology workshops for young people.
