Pacific Recycling Foundation Partnership Launch: 2 Day Event

Pacific Recycling Foundation Partnership Launch: 2 Day Event

Chancellery Building (C22)Randwick, NSW
Tuesday, Feb 17 at 8:30 am AEDT
Overview

Locally led action on waste is urgent for the Pacific. Join PRF, UNSW and partners to co-create solutions that protect people & livelihoods.

We warmly invite you to join a new collaboration led by the Pacific Recycling Foundation, in partnership with the University of New South Wales and the Pacific Recyclers Alliance, addressing one of the most urgent challenges facing the Pacific today. Without decisive, locally led action, waste volumes and complexity will continue to outpace the systems meant to manage them.

Across Pacific Island countries, waste affects public health, livelihoods, climate resilience, and community wellbeing. Solutions designed elsewhere often fail in Pacific contexts, where imported materials, limited infrastructure, and geographic isolation demand locally grounded approaches.

The Pacific Recycling Foundation is uniquely positioned to lead this work. Built on lived experience and deep trust with grassroots recyclers and communities, PRF demonstrates how locally led recycling systems can protect the environment while creating dignity and opportunity.

Through thematic Working Groups, this initiative will turn shared learning into practical action by developing tools, pilots, and systems that can be responsibly scaled across the region.

Participation offers a chance to contribute to work that strengthens Pacific leadership and delivers lasting impact.
