Pacific Community Talanoa - The Joys and Challenges of Family Caring
This special program is to raise awareness of the Carer Gateway and its support services among Pacific Island communities.
Join us for a relaxed Talanoa made for our Pacific Island families.
Talofa lava, malo e lelei, bula vinaka, kia orana, fakalofa lahi atu, talofa ni, and warm Pacific greetings to you all.
Caring for our loved ones is part of who we are. But it can also be a heavy load to carry alone.
This Talanoa is a safe space to share stories, learn from each other, and hear how Carer Gateway can support you and your family.
We’ll talk about:
· What a “carer” really is in our Pasifika community
· Simple ways to stay strong while looking after loved ones
· Free support available through Carer Gateway
· How to ask for help without feeling like you’re letting your culture down
· Real stories and open conversation in Talanoa style
This is a warm, judgement‑free space where you can connect, breathe, and discover support that strengthens you, not replaces your role.
If you care for someone, this Talanoa is for you. Come along, share, listen, and feel supported.
Hosted by Blacktown City Libraries in partnership with Carer Gateway - The Benevolent Society.
