The aim of this educational activity is to enhance the knowledge, clinical skills, and confidence of general practitioners and allied health professionals in assessing and managing orthopaedic conditions commonly seen in general practice, using current evidence-based recommendations, improved imaging interpretation, and best practice referral and management pathways.

- Diagnose and differentiate common orthopaedic conditions (e.g., hand/wrist, shoulder/elbow, spine, hip, knee, foot/ankle) using clinical history, examination, and appropriate imaging selection.
- Apply evidence-based management strategies for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rotator cuff pathology, meniscal injuries and joint instability, including appropriate referral timing to orthopaedic and allied health services.
- Interpret musculoskeletal imaging findings relevant to general practice and avoid unnecessary tests, improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.
- Explain emerging technologies (including robotic surgery) in orthopaedics to patients and integrate this knowledge into shared decision-making and referral planning.
