1.5 day orthodontic workshop

Saturday 9-5:30 at PITTWATER SMILES(ORTHODONTICS)

Sunday 9:30-12 Online session via ZOOM

CPDs: 40 hours in total = 10 hours (online & hands on) + 30 hours of study time (prereading material provided)

HANDS ON training:

Placement and removal of attachments/buttons/IPR

Positioning and removal of brackets/wires

Bands selection, placement and removal

Fixed lingual retainer placement

Intraoral scanning

Case submission to SPARK™

Fabrication in-house aligners/retainers

Intraoral/extraoral photographs

Dental Monitoring

Cephalometric tracing

Cleaning and OHI for orthodontic patients

Aetiology/classification of malocclusion

Consent for orthodontic treatment

Referral to an orthodontist: when and why

About the SPEAKER:

Dr Meli Chacón

Dentist (Spain), Master in Orthodontics&Dentofacial Orthopaedics (Spain)

Specialist list in Orthodontics (UK), PhD (Spain), Australian Dental Accreditation in 2019.

Meli was raised in a small town in Spain. She graduated as a dentist in 2001 from The University of Seville, where she completed her postgraduate training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics in 2006. After finishing her orthodontic studies, she moved to Scotland where she worked for 10 and a half years for the National Health Service as an orthodontist. While she was living in the UK, she also presented her PhD research in Spain about rapid maxillary expansion in 2014. Meli moved to Sydney in 2018 and started working as a full time lecturer in Orthodontics at The University of Sydney in 2019. She has now extensive experience in Dentistry and Orthodontics being in the industry for over 24 years.

When she is not practicing Orthodontics, Meli enjoys her spare time reading and visiting her family and friends, and she loves all different sports, especially athletics competing as a high jumper.

VENUE:

Day 1: Hands on training will be held at a specialist orthodontic practice on Saturday.

Cancellation policy

Registration confirmation – Registrations will not be confirmed until full payment is received.

Cancellations (outside 60 days) – Should you cancel your training commitment more than (60 days) prior to the training date, you will be permitted to choose one of the following options:

• Reschedule your training to the next available
• Transfer your registration to a colleague to attend in your absence or
• Request a refund. A refund will be given minus $500 for the reading material

Cancellations (inside 60 days) – Should you cancel your training commitment within the 60 days prior to the training date, no refund or transfer to another workshop date will be permitted, and you will forfeit the cost of the workshop. You are however permitted to substitute a colleague for your reservation, to attend in your absence.

DENS Academy will do everything to ensure workshops are offered as advertised, there may be instances where courses need to be rescheduled. Our academy reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop at its discretion. Where DENS Academy must cancel a workshop, participants will be offered to reschedule their workshop to the next suitable session or a full refund but we will not be held liable for any costs incurred from changing to a different date.
