Discover the story of Central West artist Maralyn Nash - Professional Artist, Art Therapist and Author

Meet Maralyn Nash - a professional artist, art therapist and author. She is a pioneering graduate from the Master of Arts (Art Therapy) program at Western Sydney University in 1995 - 96 and has a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) from La Trobe Universtiy, Victoria.

Maralyn's book The Naked Artist Journey is the story of her life through art, adventurous travel and art therapy.

The inspiration to write the book orginated from a long ago travel memory as a hippie in the medieval kingdon of 1970s Kathmandu and discovering a magical book on mandalas in a bookshop tucked away in a winding laneway off Durbar Square.

After art school, non-western art, spirituality and a bohemian lifestyle became her artist's muse with an exotic array of adventurous journeys thoughout India, Africa, Egypt, Greece, and the Pacific Islands.

Forming a creative backdrop for the rest of her book, Maralyn has written expressively on the early days of being a pioneering Art Therapist in Sydney and then onto many twists and truns in overcoming various challenges in her life.

Come along an help Central West-based Maralyn launch her book The Naked Artist Journey: 7 steps to peel back the layers & rediscover your joy through art & creative expression at Orange City Library on Wednesday 18 March at 5.30pm.

The event will be supported by Collins Booksellers, Orange and books will be available for sale and signings on the day.
