<h2>Ada's Tribe Event - supporting women to grow in Analytics, Data Science &amp; AI (ADA)</h2>The growth of Data Science and Analytics as critical functions in organisations has attracted women with diverse career backgrounds to move into these new opportunities.To transfer into new roles in Data Science and Analytics requires not only new technical skills, but also the ability to understand organisational and business needs. In this session, May Phang from Dataiku will share some tips and advice based on her personal observations and professional experience, covering:<ul><li>increasing your chances on moving into a Data Science or Analytics role, if coming from a non-traditional data background</li></ul><ul><li>gaining buy-in with your stakeholders, in running effective Data Science or Analytics functions</li></ul>The Presenter<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/may-phang-0aa2321a/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">May</a> is currently a Lead Data Scientist at Dataiku, responsible for managing Data Science activities in Australia, New Zealand, Japan &amp; Korea (ANZ, JAK). She has over 13 years of professional experience - spanning across numerous industries, roles and team structures. Following associate actuary training, May has built over 10 years of professional experience in insurance, consulting, utilities, loyalty, rewards, marketing, and more recently logistics. This has given her a unique blend of skills, possessing strong commercial acumen and technical skills. As a life-long learner, May has continually expanded her Machine Learning knowledge through practical application of skills learnt from online courses and literature.Outside of work, May is passionate about running and Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing). She has completed 3 full marathons (42km) in the past, and has a VAMAA (Victorian Amateur Martial Arts Association) Muay Thai record of 1-0-0.Who is Ada’s TribeAda's Tribe is an inclusive community to support Women to grow in Analytics, Data Science &amp; AI (ADA).
