On Wings of Wonder is a fun, interactive, capacity building program delivered in communities to help parents and carers develop an understanding of early literacy, early numeracy, emotional and social skills, gross and fine motor development and the importance of play and laughter for learning in the early years.
Purpose:
- Develop knowledge about early years brain development, emotional and social development, child development, early literacy and early numeracy
- Build a tool kit of songs, rhymes, movement and stories that relate to key Neuroscience Messages including Early Literacy, Early Numeracy, Body Awareness, Social Interactions, Fine and Gross Motor Development, Routines and Rituals, Laughter and Learning, Gentle Touch and Oral Communication.
- Learn how nursery rhymes, songs, dance, movement and stories can be used as a tool to form secure attachments and empower parents.
- Inspire parents to understand that they are their child’s best mentor, teacher and supporter.
