About this event

What to bring: a Passport/Australian Driver Licence and a black pen


Please note the following:

• The placement test is a writing test that is similar to IELTS writing task number 2. Samples of the test can be found on the internet as we do not provide any test materials.

• The test will take up to 60 minutes to be completed and there are no breaks.

• As per DUELI policy, we DO NOT provide any feedback or re-assess the test.

• If the participant wishes to cancel the test, kindly do so through the test booking confirmation email at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled session.

• No show participants may NOT be offered the opportunity to re-schedule the test.

Frequently asked questions

I do not have a Deakin student ID what should I do?

If you do not have a Deakin student ID, please contact dueli-info@deakin.edu.au for further instructions as test fee may apply.

Where can I find the samples of the test?

The test samples can be found via internet browsing or through IELTS textbooks available for purchase at bookstores/e-bookstores as we do not provide any test related materials.

How can I cancel/reschedule the test?

To reschedule the test, prior booked test session needs to be cancelled which can be made by clicking 'View and Manage' on the confirmation email. Once you have followed the cancellation process, you may re-book the test.

How many times I can cancel the test?

Cancellation made less than 48 hours – 'Once' whereas cancellation made more than 48 hours – 'Twice'.

Can I re-sit the test?

DUELI test result is valid for 2 years once taken, therefore you are not allowed to re-take the test within the mentioned timeframe.

What can I do if I am not happy with the test results?

We do not re-assess the test nor provide feedback. Accordingly, you have the option to sit an official English proficiency test such as IELTS, TOEFL or PTE.

Will I receive the test's feedback?

Unfortunately, DUELI does not provide any feedback as it is a free service.
