Oh, the Humanity!

Maitland Regional Art GalleryMaitland, NSW
Saturday, Mar 14 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm
Overview

Embracing a range of mediums, UoN students and scholars will showcase their work in creative inquiry in the “New Old School” Exhibition.

In a time of educational and social turbulence, this event aims to explore the timeless value of creativity and community. The night takes place in the recently opened “New Old School” Exhibition at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, curated by UoN graduate and artist Luke Thurgate. This exhibition brings together contemporary painters who explore how the past persists within the present. Luke will join presenters on the night to discuss how humanities and the arts are some of the oldest disciplines, supporting the inherently human act of creativity that has shaped our world throughout history. ‘Oh, the Humanity’ will include pieces all three of the sister disciplines: Humanities, Creative Arts, and Social Sciences. Embracing a range of mediums, students and scholars will be showcasing their work in creative inquiry. Humanities will be remembered.
