Stepping Forward sessions are FREE education sessions for families and friends, delivering useful information and strategies to those supporting someone using alcohol and other drugs. These sessions aim to increase people's confidence and competence in managing alcohol and other drug issues by providing:


  • Clear & practical information sessions
  • A safe place to share & to feel supported


Sessions can attended in any order EXCEPT for the first one - it's important that you are aware of the foundation for subsequent sessions. You can view the content of the first session online - a link will be sent to you after you register.


This session will be delivered in an online format. You will be emailed with a zoom link prior to the session.

Session 6 - Dealing with Conflict

  • Discussing what is conflict
  • Understanding conflict where substance is involved
  • Strategies on how to deal with conflict and negotiate
  • Exploring conflict and anger

Each session is designed so that you will have something of value to take away to help you on your journey. Everyone is welcome to attend.
