Calling young stars aged 4 to 12. Shine at our live finals in Lunar New Year Celebration Day! Sing, dance or play music. Prizes to be won.


Willoughby City Council is proud to launch Nova Star Youth Talent Competition.

This is a celebration of creativity, culture, and the amazing talent in our young community. If you love to sing, play an instrument or perform, step up - this is your stage to shine.

Performance genres and age groups

Performance genres:

  • Vocal: choir, duet, solo – folk, classical, pop and more.
  • Instrumental: solo or ensemble, Western or Chinese traditional instruments.
  • Performance arts: dance, martial arts, gymnastics.

Age and entry divisions:

  • Age 4 to 8.
  • Age 9 to12.
  • Group.

Note: Group and family groups are welcome but should include at least one participant aged 4 to 12.

Selection process

1. Judged preliminary round

All video entries will be reviewed by a panel of professional judges. Successful acts will be invited to the live finals in February 2026.

2. Live finals

Finalists will perform on stage during Willoughby’s Lunar New Year celebrations day in front of a live audience and judges.

3. Prizes

Winners will receive prize packs.

Submission deadline: Saturday 31 January. To register, please fill in the form.
