About this event

  • 2 hours

Explore Northbridge with Ben, one of our experienced AAA volunteer tour guides. Come and enjoy a two hour walk in this lower north shore suburb of Sydney with beautiful harbour views along the way.

Northbridge, like its surrounding suburbs, is a peninsula jutting into Middle Harbour.

The spine of Northbridge is called Sailors Bay Road, which traverses though the middle of the suburb, giving views to Castlecrag, Seaforth, Beauty Point, Cremorne and Neutral Bay. Learn about the history of Northbridge and explore its streets to discover a wonderful and varied range of architect designed houses. It still has remains of aboriginal rock engravings and shell middens close to the water.

Northbridge was named after the bridge that links Northbridge to Cammeray, built over Tunks Park.

This tour will give you an insight into another suburb of Sydney which you may not have known about and the highlights include 1950's architect designed houses by Doug Snelling to contemporary houses designed by Marston Architects and Jorge Hrdina Architects and an ex prime minister's house.
