About the Conference

The Conference will explore strategies and solutions to help build, support and grow the biomedical innovation sector in Australia by attracting investments and creating collaborations that help establish new companies – ultimately leading to increased job opportunities, diversification of the workforce and new sovereign capability.

The unique networking, educational and thought leadership event brings together experts and key decision makers from various relevant sectors to help up-skill delegates and explore how financial and social investments in medical research, together with different strategies and bold actions, can lead to the advancement of innovations.

The program focuses on building a culture, support and funding ecosystem where industry, government, academia, venture capital and philanthropy intersect to support biomedical innovations from beginning to end.

Conference Program

The profiles of our speakers will also be listed on our website in early 2024.

Conference Objectives

1. Provide an overview of the current medical research ecosystem and funding strategies used by various key players. We seek to share perspectives of different stakeholders, each with different needs and objectives, but essential to bringing biomedical innovations to market;

2. By understanding the needs and objectives of partners, we help delegates better understand why things aren’t working, where areas of opportunity lie and where partners should intersect so they can best achieve a successful collaboration or partnership. We seek to better equip key stakeholders to understand and facilitate research translation;

3. Explore opportunities and strategies to help build and grow the biomedical innovation sector in Australia to help increase sovereign capability;

4. Showcase examples of innovators who have successfully commercialised their research to better understand the nuances before, during and after partnerships are formed;

5. Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement by showcasing leading examples of collaborations and partnerships;

6. Set out approaches on how to ‘think outside the box’ and lead change via bold actions; and

7. Build a strategy for the future that seeks to address current and forthcoming challenges that will not only help advance the biomedical innovation sector through the establishment of new companies and investments, but also upskill and diversify the local workforce through new employment opportunities and growth.
