NEW SHOOTS: poems inspired by plants
From the pulped pages of our favourite books to the emergence of eco-poetics, plants and poems have long been entwined.
Join The Red Room Company and The Planthunter in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for a guided garden tour to celebrate NEW SHOOTS - a collaborative project culminating in a network of "poetic pathways” mapping the Garden.
Participating poets Eileen Chong, Eric Avery and Mark Tredinnick will share new works inspired by botanic sites, before drinks and conversation with The Planthunter to inspire the cultivation of your own poetic garden.
Date: Saturday 21 May
Session times: 11.00 am - 12.30 pm and 2.00 - 3.30 pm
Program: 45 minute walking tour, followed by refreshments and plant conversation.
Location: Start and finish at Lion Gate Lodge, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney (map)
This NEW SHOOTS project is a partnership between The Red Room Company and the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, in conjunction with the Sydney Writers' Festival.
