NEW Listening Lounge Mental Health Peer Support Group- Kelmscott!
A welcoming space for connection, understanding and mutual support.
NEW Listening Lounge Mental Health Peer Support Group - Kelmscott!
Listening Lounge mental health peer support groups are a safe, supportive space to connect with others who’ve gone through mental health struggles of their own.
You can show up as you are - if you’ve had a rough week, there is no need to pretend otherwise. It’s ok to not be ok in this group. You can even turn up in your pyjamas if you like, get up, move around, sit on the floor, whatever makes you feel comfortable! The group follows a semi-flexible structure and is co-facilitated by two trained peer workers with lived experience themselves.
About:
- Free
- Weekly 2hr groups
- Adults all ages
- For people experiencing mental health challenges
- Come along as you are - no referral needed
- Accessibility prioritised
- Facilitated by trained peers
What do we talk about in a group?
Listening Lounge Peer Support groups use a structure that creates space for:
- Sharing a problem or issue that you may be struggling with
- Listening and learning from others
- Sharing wins or achievements
- Having a cup of tea/coffee and chatting with other attendees
- Discussing a mental health topic or activity
- Hearing about community events, supports, and services, plus much more.
Creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone
Listening Lounge Peer Support Groups are safe, and inclusive spaces where people of all gender identities, sexualities, cultural and religious backgrounds, skin colours, and abilities, can come together to feel heard, valued, and supported.
Our Group Care Guidelines and Values are designed to ensure that our groups are safe and enjoyable for everyone. Facilitators take an active approach to cultural safety and accessibility. If you’d like to talk more about your access needs, please get in touch.
