Everyone Is Welcome

  • Come alone, with a partner, or with friends.
  • No partner is required.
  • You’ll dance in friendly “squares” of eight with experienced dancers, so you are always supported and never left guessing.


What to Expect on the Night

  • A warm welcome from friendly dancers
  • Easy-to-follow instruction — everything is taught
  • Dancing at a comfortable, relaxed pace
  • Regular breaks and a social atmosphere
  • No pressure.
  • No performances.
  • Just fun.


What to Wear

  • Casual, comfortable clothing
  • Comfortable flat shoes or low heels
  • Shoes that are easy to move in
  • No special outfits are needed.

About Kiwilers Square Dance Club

Kiwilers Square Dance Club was founded in 2000 by Richard and Heather Muir, originally from Invercargill, New Zealand. They have been dancing for over 38 years, with Richard calling since 1985.



Try it out just for the fun of it!

Join us for an introductry evening to try it out or just watch - all FREE!

You will be taught several basic moves during the evening and be dancing right away!

Come alone, with a partner or even a group, all are welcome! Have a young family, bring them along, 10+ years welcome on the dance floor!

There will be other experienced dancers dancing with you in "Squares" of 8 people.


Have a laugh. Make new friends. Be part of a vibrant community.

And remember, your first night is FREE, just come and try it.

Ready to join in?

  • Classes take place each Friday evening commencing on 6 February 2026.
  • The first night is free so you can try it out obligation free!
  • Thereafter the cost is $10.00 per person per lesson.
  • Tea/coffee refreshments are provided.
  • Bring the kids, we welcome 10+ years on the dance floor - make it a family night out!


Modern square dancing provides movement in a fun and engaging environment, low impact exercise and mental stimulation.

We are an all inclusive community and welcome dancers 10+.
